External Computer Radiator Project (2021-2021)
Info: My love for space-optimized PCs came at the cost of noise and thermal limitations. I decided to design an external radiator with quick disconnect coolant lines. I was able to score 96th in the world for a single GPU on a popular 3D benchmark called 3D Mark Time Spy out of 12 million runs. My GPU core will max out at about 48c when pulling 470w and CPU 74c at 250w!
Specs:
PC standalone is 5.9L in volume (shoebox size!)
Radeon RX Reference 6800XT (power/volt reg edit mod) 2750mhz Core 2150mhz Ram @ 1.25 Vcore
R9 5950X 4.65GHZ @1.3 Vcore LLC mode 4
32GB 14-15-14-39 3800mhz @ 1.5v DDR4 Samsung B-die based dual rank kit
MSI B550i MPG Itx Motherboard
SX750 PSU Noctua mod + Custom wiring (due to space constraints)
420mm Hardware Labs GTS Radiator
3x Thermaltake Toughfan 140
Heatkiller AM4 water block
Alphacool RX 6800 XT water block
Alphacool D5 pump
What I learned: I learned just how important good cooling is for pushing my computer to the absolute max.
