Orion BMS 2 Teardown (2023)
Orion BMS 2 Teardown (2023)
Some Backstory:
I was requested to take a look at a modified Orion BMS 2 in order to determine what features were cut on this custom-built version. It was from a company Actia to make a stationary BMS unit for an LTO-based battery pack. The BMS ended up missing a CAN Transceiver, a low-side switch for safety charger power and isolation detection circuit.
In taking this apart you get a masterclass in AEC-Q100 certified parts. This entire device is chalked full of good devices to use in automotive applications!
